Today it has been announced that eSports tournament platform GamerSaloon and military charity Operation Supply Drop (OSD) - the world’s most generationally relevant support organization for veterans and active duty military - are taking gaming in the military to a whole new level, with the CS:GO Bounty Arena tournament.
GamerSaloon.com and Operation Supply Drop are leveraging their respective resources to host their first event together to raise awareness for the charity’s mission to support service members and veterans through gaming. Beginning February 26, 2016, over the course of the weekend, active duty troops, veterans and civilian supporters alike will go head-to-head in the CS:GO Bounty Arena for a chance to win an OSD Supply Drop valued at $2,500 for their chosen branch. Each participant will decide which branch they want to support, and the branch with the most in-game kills (“bounties”) at the end of the weekend will receive the $2,500 Supply Drop!
Video games have long provided a source of entertainment for players of all ages and all interests. OSD knows this best and for 5 years now, has leveraged the positive impact of video games to provide support for both active troops and those wounded and residing in hospitals. The partnership between OSD and GamerSaloon.com brings a new level of engagement for active military and civilians while helping support a great cause. GamerSaloon’s CEO and Founder, Gabe Rubin, is very excited about this partnership, stating, “I love the United States of America and I want to support the brave men and woman of the military, active, reserve and the veterans. I’m really looking forward to working with OSD!”
While their first event remains focused solely on the CS:GO Bounty Arena, future events from GamerSaloon.com and OSD may include popular titles such as FIFA 16, NBA2k16, Madden 16 and Call of Duty.
